Our HOK Chicago team recently participated in USGBC’s Green Apple Day of Service at Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts). Green Apple Day of Service gives individuals, companies and organizations the opportunity to transform schools into healthy, safe, cost-efficient and productive learning places.
Focusing on key sustainable initiatives, our volunteers worked with W.E. O’Neil and DIRTT Environmental Solutions to plant and garden the ChiArts outdoor spaces, install a recycling center and install a DIRTT Breathe Wall inside of the school.
Special thanks to HOK volunteers Gaute Grindheim, Karen Osborn, Colin Rohlfing, Leila Ray, Kirti Patel, Lindy McAra, Ashley Craig, Stacy Gauthier, Arjang Khorzad, Patricia Canedo, Laura Joens, Chris Kupcho, Meredith McBride, Kelsey Trepka and Dan Meeker, as well as all the other volunteers, whose time and dedication made this worthy event a huge success. A big thank you to Christy Webber Landscapes for their generous donation of landscaping materials!
